A few years ago I was someone who didn’t drink much water — granted, I’ve always been a big tea drinker and drank a few glasses when I was thirsty, but I never made hydration a big priority. Now that I’m a bit older and wiser, I have come to realise the importance of keeping hydrated. Our bodies need water to function properly, and drinking enough water also does wonders for your skin. I try to drink at least 2 litres of water per day, and more if I’m exercising.
1. INFUSE + ADD COLOUR
To make drinking water less boring, one of my favourite things to do is infuse the water with citrus and berries. It sounds fancy, but it’s really just popping some of your favourite fruit in a glass and filling it with water. The fruit makes the water taste better and also look more visually appealing, which is perfect for encouragement.
2. USE A CARAFE
Another tip I have is to drink from a water filter jug or carafe. I’ve been trialling the BRITA Fill & Serve water filter carafe and pouring the filtered water into a jar with berries and lemon. I keep it full at my desk while I’m working from home and love how its minimalist design fits seamlessly into my workspace. Using a carafe is another excellent way to reduce costs of continually buying bottled water. The filtered water tastes better too, making it much more enjoyable to drink and stay hydrated.
3. EXPERIMENT WITH TEA
My last tip is to try different teas! There are countless varieties of teas out there to try, both hot and iced. I would definitely recommend giving licorice tea, green tea with jasmine, and white + peach tea a go.
I hope this has helped!
