If you’re looking for a quick, healthy vegan food fix, look no further than Beach House Health Bar in South Bank.
Located in the center of Brisbane’s beautiful South Bank, Beach House Health Bar offers a huge range of smoothies, superfood bowls, salads, sandwiches, cold press juice and raw treats. And of course their amazing selection of frozen yogurt, gelato and 100% vegan sorbets.
On our first trip to Beach House Health Bar, we were totally blown away by the menu. Everything was mouthwatering and we were eager to try it all. Imagine acai bowls and smoothie bowls like the Fresh Supergreens bowl, Pink Pitaya bowl, and Creamy Crunchy Coconut bowl. And delectable smoothies including the Fresh Melon, Malibu Mango and Coastal Berry.
Eventually we decided on the Cacao Crunch Superbowl, Avocado + Tomato Bruschetta, and the Pina Colada and Choc Velvet Superfood smoothies. We were in heaven.
The Cacao Crunch Superbowl was the standout, with its thick chocolatey base contrasting beautifully with the crunchy housemade chocolate granola, coconut, goji berries, cacao nibs and fresh strawberries. The varying textures and intense chocolate flavour made this Superbowl an absolute delight to eat.
The Avocado Bruschetta with chopped tomatoes (and feta for Rian) was delicious. Served atop crusty sourdough, the Avocado Bruschetta was a fresh savoury break from the sweet Cacao Crunch Superbowl. A bit of dukkah seasoning wouldn’t have gone astray, but nevertheless this savoury offering definitely gets a big thumbs up.
To accompany our breakfasts we enjoyed the Pina Colada and Choc Velvet Superfood smoothies. The Pina Colada — made with frozen pineapple, coconut + vegan coconut sorbet — was so wonderfully refreshing and went down a treat. The thick Choc Velvet Superfood smoothie was just as divine – made with banana, dates, cacao, protein and vegan sorbet. It was like a rich chocolate dessert, tantalising our tastebuds while nourishing our insides.
We were also lucky enough to have a taste of some of the amazing housemade raw treats on offer, and I can safely say that each one we tried was delicious. Our favourite was the Salted Caramel Buttercup which by some kind of magic tasted so similar to its traditional counterpart: caramely, buttery, smooth and drool worthy.
After a wonderful breakfast, Beach House Health Bar has quickly become one of my go-to healthy vegan food joints in Brisbane, and we’ve already gone back a few times for dessert to try the vegan chocolate sorbet. I won’t keep you in suspense: it is spectacular.
